Categories: Delegation trips

With the goal to better understand and navigate the newly emerging power systems, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is funding a bilateral thought leader exchange. The delegation trip is part of a broader scale effort to strengthen the energy cooperation between our countries, encourage the exchange of ideas, and build policy expertise for a successful energy transition.

This knowledge exchange aims to provide intelligent solutions and insights in new business and planning models, grid management, the integration of distributed energy sources, electric and fuel cell vehicles and Power-to-X.

Duration of the program is four days, from 16th to 19th of March 2020. Arrival in Berlin is planned for 16th of March, departure for 20th of March.

This free-of-charge Program* entails a combination of presentations, meetings and site visits for a small group of around15 selected participants. The delegation trip is targeting top management staff and executives from Australian and New Zealand power system operators, electric utilities, grid regulators and policymakers, as well as other experts and stakeholders that drive the energy transition.

The study trip could be combined with the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (see here for 2019 program) that will take place on the 24th and 25th of March with many side events happening throughout the whole week. The Dialogue is an international forum for key stakeholders in the energy sector and was attended by over 2.000 from over 90 countries in 2019.

* This includes the facilitation of all meetings, ground transportation, and select meals (all lunches and one welcome dinner) within the scope of the program. Participants are responsible for their own airfare to and from Germany, their accommodation and for meals that are not part of the official program. Assistance with hotel bookings in Berlin will be provided by the German-Australian Chamber. There is no separate program fee.
